District Achievement Award  "BILL PIERCE AWARD"

Membership data is secured by the District Secretary/Treasurer from print outs received from Optimist International, who maintains the list of Club Roster Adjustment forms reported and checked against dues payment reports. All other categories are either reported on special reports to the District Secretary/Treasurer, on Activities Reports to the District A & A
Chairperson or to the Governor.

                        DISTRICT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER

The club in the district that accumulates the greatest number of points between October 1 and September 30 will become the North Texas DistrictAchievement Winner, (known as the "Bill Pierce Memorial Award"). Optimist International will provide the award for the district winner in the form of a banner year tab while the district will provide a traveling Bill Pierce Award
Banner. If a club earns the award for the first time, it will receive a banner-strip for its award banner. These awards will be mailed to the immediate
past governor for presentation.

The program is set up so that duplicates of reports, special and regular, are sent by the clubs to the District Secretary/Treasurer. Sponsorships of new clubs, subscription to Life Membership, and payment of International dues will be reported to the
District Secretary/Treasurer by Optimist International. Credit will be given for all activities reported and received by the District Awards and Achievements Chair by October 15 following the close of the current Optimist year. There will be no credit given for activities received after October 15.

Both an online and a manual form will be provided to turn in your points.

The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself …

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and Prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
